Girls Are One Month Old - Friends Have Baby Boy!

Today marks the one month bday of our two amazing girls. They are growing like weeds and doing very well, though they need to get over this idea of "partying together all night long"....it's killing us. Funny how they sleep ALL DAY!

Our friends, the Hayhursts, had their baby boy, Jordan, today as well! Pray for him as he is in NICU too! http://thehayhursts.blogspot.com/

Doctors Orders

Well, the girls are doing well, but we had an interesting visit to a pulmanologist on Thursday. He said that the girls were doing great and we're growing, but cautioned us that we needed to pretty much be "homebound" for the next 4-6 months! RSV is a very serious virus that can be deadly to premie babies and it starts in October and runs through March.

That means no big social outings for us with the girls. No church and no Cowboys games for sure. Bummer.

He also suggested we control our own home by making sure it is kept clean and all visitors are made aware of our need for everyone to be clean when handling them.

We really want each of you to come over. He said that is fine as long as things are controlled here at home. So just be aware that you may be asked to do the following if you come over. (please don't come over if you are sick or around one that is....)

Here we go:

1. You will be asked to wash your hands before handling the girls
2. All visitors will be subject to random screenings
3. Men may be subjected to prostate exams
4. Women may be subject to breast exams
5. Teeth may be checked for lose particles
6. We hope to avoid strip searches, but they may be necessary and are at our discretion.

Other than that, no problems. Questions?

More Pictures!

You Have No Idea....

...just how crazy things are! Grammy and Nana are here to help Julie as I have to run off to work some, but things are nuts! But, they are also very fun!

Chloe is growing like mad and Sidney is now 6lbs! They are finally together and boy how funny they are. They grunt, squirm, cry, laugh, and really seem to know each other. It's just great. What a blessing babies are. Some of you already know or will know soon.

We had a our first "photo session" here at the house Wednesday.

Videos will be added to our website soon. www.bradyandjulie.com. Check our dogs blog (yes, I am a little nutty) for a funny story soon about the boys and their interactions with the girls. http://maxandsam.blogspot.com/.

Here are a few more pictures.

Speers Twins Finally Together!

After all the hard work, tons of prayers, stress, lack of sleep (which will continue), worries, and NICU visits, our baby girls are together once again.

Here are some of the first photos of them out of the womb and next to each other.

Yes, they ARE identical....

Two Home, Zero to Go!

Chloe Grace is home, safe and sound and under the watchful eyes of her parents, sister and "The Boys"!

Thanks to all for your prayers, support and help! Many of you are bringing dinners over and helping us get adjusted. Believe me...tt is already crazy and we have only been home a few hours!

Thanks to all of you at the Arlington Memorial NICU as well. You guys are the best and we thank God for you.

Please keep us and the girls in your prayers. Chloe is fragile and the next few weeks could be a little up and down.....

More to come...check the website soon for TONS of pictures!

Chloe Has Small Setback But Growing

Just got back from AMH....yep, it's after midnight. I think we can both agree that we have hit what they call the "NICU blues". It is so tiring and somewhat depressing to have to go see your baby everyday, 2-3 times a day, there. But she is in great hands too.

Chloe is now right at 4lbs. She is off the feeding tube so we finally got to see her today without anything strapped to her face. She is so beautiful. Sidney and Chloe are already starting to look more alike.

Anyway, the only issue remaining is her holding her body temp. They have tried twice to remove her from the incubator and place her back in an open grib, but she has not been able to hold her temp. They will try again tomorrow or Friday. If she does well, she will get to come home early next week!

Pictures tomorrow...

Chloe is on the Bottle!

Chloe is doing great and we hope to have her home in a week! She is now taking a bottle and 35cc's. This is a big step. If she continues and holds her temperature we expect her to be released to us in 5-7 days! She is over 3lbs 10oz too.

Both of us got to bottle feed her for the first time today! She is doing great and her sister is ready for her to come join her at their new home....

Sam Going Crazy About Sidney

Our boxer is totally hilarious! He's gotten less sleep than Julie and I because he cannot stay away from Sidney. He climbs up on the bed and looks down on her or he stands up and peers into the play pen. Either way, if she grunts, cries or makes a move, Sam is there before either of us.

Max, our little Jack Russell mix, is freaking out too...but more because he knows he's been replaced in his mommas eyes!

Just wait until we add another to the mix!

Chloe Growing Well!

Just a quick update on Chloe.

She is growing very well and is at 3lbs 8oz. Another few days on the feeding tube and then she shoudl be able to start working on the bottle. Once she does that, we can hoep to bring her home 4-5 days later, which we pray is no later than the end of next week.

We are ready for her to be home. Sidney is doing great!
